BILL MORRIS
In Nov 2021, I was diagnosed with KRAS G12D lung cancer after 9 months of breathing difficulty and several erroneous diagnostic attempts. By the time I was diagnosed, it was stage 3B. 10 rounds of chemo, 30 rounds of radiation and 10 months on an immunotherapy clinical trial leave me active cancer free today 3+ years. On the radiation table I prayed, and God spoke: “I am with you Bill, I always have been – you will be OK.” At the same time I was fighting cancer, Lori was dealing with a massive brain tumor which left her unable to help me get to treatment appointments. Lori and I both believe that it is our faith that saved each of us. I was notified in the summer of 2025 that the clinical trial I had been on had failed. The immunotherapy drug combination I had received had done no better than the standard of care treatment that others in the trail had received. Now, we have a new purpose! God has put it on my heart to reach out to others to help them find the same peace that surpasses all understanding that I found on the radiation table and to remind all of us of our continued mission to “go forth and create disciples” even in our diminished states.
MAY OGILVIE
In May 2022, I was diagnosed with KRAS G12V lung cancer, stage 2B, and today it is metastatic. What felt like devastation at first became the very path God used to reach me.In March 2023, I accepted Christ into my life and that August I was baptized. From that moment on, I’ve been on fire for the Lord. Cancer may have shaken my body, but it gave me the greatest gift – salvation and the promise of eternity with Jesus. Now I’m pursuing pre-seminary studies, because I want to spend whatever time I have left drawing as close to the Lord as possible and serving His kingdom. Cancer changed my health, but Christ transformed my eternity.
